Tracing Kiều is an independent art and literary initiative in dialogue with The Tale of Kiều — widely regarded as Vietnam’s most celebrated literary work.

How can a 200-year-old poem resonate with the Vietnamese diaspora today?

Tracing Kiều began with that question. Initiated in Berlin, the project brings together artists, writers and scholars from the Vietnamese diaspora and from Vietnam. Currently in development: the exhibition The Kiều Complex with an accompanying public program, and The Kiều Reader, an anthology. Meanwhile, the self-organized reading series Kiều Lesen – Reading Kiều opens the poem to anyone curious.
