Tracing Kiều invites creatives of the global Vietnamese diaspora to respond to The Tale of Kiều – in writing, image, sound, performance, or hybrid formats. We treat bói Kiều as a prompt: open the poem, choose a couplet, scene, or character, and let it spark new work.

At a glance:

• Who: Writers, artists, and makers across literary, visual/graphic, and time‑based/spatial media (2D documentation considered for print). We prioritize creative works. We prioritize creative works over traditional Q&A. Select first-person pieces – letters, monologues, or narratives shaped from conversations – are welcome, including from older contributors.
  
• Languages: English (working), Vietnamese, German, French, and other diaspora languages; translation/bilingual where possible.
  
• Rights & support: You keep copyright; non‑exclusive rights requested; modest honoraria planned with funding.
  
• Key dates: Express interest in Fall 2025 → mail@tracingkieu.net.
  Final submissions: January / February 2026 (updated – flexible).
  
• This call has closed. Submitted contributions are currently under review alongside a series of expert interviews, as we shape the Reader’s final lineup.
