- Prepare your work — Final text/visuals; for time-based / spatial works, include documentation (stills/photos/storyboard) and a short description (optional viewing link).
- Include in your file — Title, ~100-word bio, and a 100–200-word note on how your work connects to The Tale of Kiều.
- File specs — One PDF or Word file, ≤10 MB. If your work doesn’t fit these formats, email us.

- October 2025 – Email us your intent to submit: introduce yourself and your idea
- December 2025 / January 2026 – Final submissions window
- Spring 2026 – Results announced
- 2027 – Anthology publication and Berlin exhibition with public program
- Literary – ≤3,000 words prose or ≤6 pages poetry (no academic essays; creative nonfiction, letters, or hybrid texts are welcome)
- Visual/graphic – ≤8 pages (illustration, comics, collage, photography, hybrid formats)
- Time-based/spatial – 4–8 stills + ~300-word synopsis (optional viewing link)
If you have questions or feel your work may not fit these specs, email us and we’ll work with you to find a suitable format.
- Submissions will be reviewed by the editorial and curatorial team, with advisory input from the Diasporic Vietnamese Artists Network (DVAN), among other partners.
- Selection for the anthology does not automatically include the exhibition. Invitations for the exhibition will depend on curatorial fit, feasibility, and available resources.
- Rights – You retain full copyright; the project requests only non-exclusive rights for inclusion in the anthology, exhibition, digital platform, and related communications.
- Compensation – We cannot guarantee payment at this stage, but we hope to offer a modest honorarium once funding is secured. Just as importantly, participation offers international visibility through publication and exhibition, and the chance to connect with peers worldwide engaging with the Tale of Kiều.
